Up the Fal

New jib today, sailmaker motored out to admire our/his sails as we left Falmouth. Now a boatload of environmentalists learning splicing up the River Fal.

Snorkers

50 05.80N 5 07.80W Happy St George's day. To windward past Pentewan & Mevagissey to the wooded Helford river, Moondance's former home. Ian cooking sausages.

Fowey ahoy

Unusually lovely sail to Fowey, Moondance sailed herself for the first time and we were redundant. Coastguard on strike, so no forecasts.

Wet weekend

Wet weekend in Plymouth, then brief visit home to see the mighty Bellowhead & Adrian's parents, housesitting for us. Lesley gives us unspillable Shreddies box.

Relaunch!

Efficient relaunch. Fast, rainy, character-building sail. Now 'home' at Cargreen, toasting feet & Other Wynns with stove & Rosemary's fizz. MOB with boathook.

Gales in Plymouth

Riding out gales ashore. Yesterday antifouled bottom & bought out chandlers. Today bold attempts to mend cooker while shiny plastic yachts are manouvred around.

After a hideously early start Moondance is in Cawsand & Lesley has learnt whipping & splicing.

50 14.1N 3 45.9W Salcombe, after a day of harvesting hail from the sail and Ian's hands went black with glove dye. Like someone who mends AGAs for a living.

Shiny black boat

Preparations continue apace, today I crawled through the mud between the
boat and the quay and managed to put a coat of black paint on the topsides.
Now to get up the mast and rig lots of ropes before the weather turns bitter
again.
