We stock several ranges of semi-flexible solar panels ideal for marine use. All these panels can be bonded down to a yacht's deck, and are fully weather-proof and can even be walked on without damage. These panels are also great on narrowboats and caravans, as a lower-profile, more vandal-resistant alternative to a conventional framed panel.
We've only just started stocking the British-made GB-SOL panels - but we've been very impressed with both the quality and the price! The 70W panel is ideal where you need a reasonable amount of power.
The Spectra range of panels are lower power, but are ideal for keeping batteries topped up while you are away from your boat or caravan. The panels combine a tough fibreglass substrate with a scratch-proof, clear, Tedlar coating. Very slimline and lightweight, they can be flexed to fit gently curved surfaces. They can be glued down with our recommended adhesive, or fixed using the four screw holes in the corners.
Manufactured in Germany for over 20 years, SunWare marine solar modules are ideal for your yacht or narrowboat as well as caravan or motorhome installations. Available in a wide range of sizes, and only 5mm deep, they have no sharp edges and can be fitted to a surface with a curve of up to 3% and screwed or glued flush to the deck or roof. Sunware panels have an extra four photovoltaic cells compared to most solar panels (40 instead of 36), so they have a higher open circuit voltage. This means they really benefit from an MPPT regulator such as the Emponi MPPT - using such a regulator will give significantly more charge to your batteries.
