The carbon fibre in the plates of Elecsol batteries makes them stronger, lighter, and better able to stand deep discharge than conventional leisure batteries. Although slightly more expensive, they are well worth the extra cost as they will last typically three times as long!
Elecsol batteries can cope with high rates of discharge, so can be used as engine starting batteries - and are an ideal choice for use with inverters.
100Ah batteries are an ideal size for narrowboats, yachts, and caravans, as they are not too heavy for the average person to handle. A single battery is ideal for use with solar panels of around 50-100W rating. For larger solar panel arrays, simply add additional batteries in parallel. For 24V systems, pairs of batteries should be linked in series.
Batteries are shipped direct from the manufacturers, and usually take around one week to arrive.
